NE-10-01 Buffalo Elm Creek 60' 1908-11 36   Round barn about 3 miles NW of Elm Creek. Windmill projects from the center of the roof.

US30 E. 2.7 miles from jct with NE10C (Scout St.) in Gibbon, N. on Sodtown Rd. 0.1 miles to the house on the W. side of the road. William Nutter, octagon house, 2 story, faded white horizontal siding, sectional conical rood, no cupola, poor condition. At one time a porch surrounded the house. There appears to have been a structure on the roof where a cupola would typically be. Built by William Nutter.

True round barn, main floor wall is concrete blocks; loft level wall is white vertical siding, 2-pitch conical roof, central silo, cupola, fair condition.
NE-18-03   Clay Center 50' 1915 23   Octagon barn 1 mile W. and 2 miles S. of Clay Center. Each side 20' long, central silo 20' in diameter, gambrel roof, 2 gambrel shaped dormers, one above the other, cupola, horizontal siding. Has been used as a roller-skating rink and dance hall.
NE-18-04   Sutton 44'   34 GONE Octagon barn 2 miles NE of Sutton. Each side 17.5' long, gable roof, horizontal siding. Demolition was imminent in 1967.

    Omaha         In Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha. About 18 oct/hexagon bldgs at the zoo. Hopefully buildings & not just covers over the ground. There also appears to be a wood water tank for their train.
NE-30-01 Fillmore Shickley 29' 1917 26   Round barn 2 miles E. of Shickley. Gable roof almost entirely gone in 1970, walls are interlocking concrete blocks.

NE-64-01 Nemah Auburn 69' 1880s 02   Octagon barn 9.5 miles SW of Auburn. Each side 27.5' long, modified gambrel roof.
NE-65-01 Nuckolls Superior 62' 1914 1986 N40 05.384 W98 00.354 NE of Superior, Nelson Township. NE14 N. 4.9 miles from jct with NE8 (3rd St.) in Superior, E. on Stoddard Rd. 3.3 miles to the barn on the N. side of the road. 14 sided barn, white horizontal siding, 2-pitch roof, large louvered cupola. Plans drawn and constructed by W. C. Malsbury in 1914 in Nuckolls County, Nebraska. The barn is a polygon in shape. The sides which are 14' x 18' are reinforced with steel rods placed 3' apart. The concrete reaches to the hayloft floor. The sand and gravel for concrete was hauled from the Republican River that is 8 miles away by team and wagon. This was all mixed by hand. The roof is self-supported by 8" x 10" oak beams. In the center of the barn is a silo of cypress wood that came from Oregon.

NE-80-01 Seward Beaver Crossing 50'   05   Octagon barn 1.5 miles SE of Beaver Crossing. Built probably late 1800s, each side 20' long, gable roof, 2 large dormers opposite each other, vertical siding w/bats.
NE-80-02   Pleasant Dale 38' 1912-13 18   Round barn 0.5 miles N. of Pleasant Dale. Built 1912-1913, gambrel roof collapsed in 1967, central silo 15' diameter, 2-story tile block walls.
NE-82-01 Sherman Loup City 40' 1912 06-2003 --GONE-- N41 23.62 W98 54.31 NNE of Loup City, North Loup City Township. Trail 3 N. (curves E.) 9.6 miles from jct with N St. on the E. side of Loup City to the barn on the S. side of the road. 24-sided hog barn, 8' high walls w/vertical siding, sectional conical roof, louvered cupola, poor condition, major holes in roof. Built by Alfred N. Cook.
NE-82-02   Loup City 30'   08   Round barn (12 sides) about 2 miles SW of NE-82-01. Built late 1880s, 30' diameter, gable roof, ventilator, horizontal siding.
NE-82-03   Loup City     06-2003 N41 16.441 W98 58.418 In Loup City. NE58/92 SE 300' from jct with NE10 to the barn on the NE side of the road 12-sided barn, unpainted horizontal siding, segmented conical roof, no cupola, excellent condition.
NE-84-01 Stanton Pilger   1908 ??   Round barn 2.5 miles NW of Pilger. Double gambrel roof (3 pitch), walls are of concrete block. [Not found & the person I asked didn't know anything about it. - 6-19-02 - DJT]
NE-86-01 Thomas Thedford       GONE Round barn (12 or 14 sides) about 4 miles N. of Thedford on a Kinkaid land grant. Built ??, gambrel roof, horizontal siding, burned in 1919.
NE-88-01 Valley Ord     05-2005 N41 36.08 W98 55.79 In Ord. At 1640 N St., NE corner N & 17th Sts. [Formerly People's Unitarian Church. Listed on the NRHP. Served as a church, public library, meeting hall, club for the Grand Army of the Republic until 1921, and then for the American Legion, Ord Fidelity Post #38 until 1961. It was remolded into a private residence in 1987. It has 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath downstairs. Upstairs is 1500 sq. ft.] Octagon house, 2 story, red brick, small "dome" cupola with spire.

Barelman, round one story, red vertical siding, large windowed clerestory, aerator, fair condition. Appears to have been recently painted. Roofing appears to be temporary and the wind has done some damage.

(curves SW) on unnamed road 0.15 miles, S. on driveway 0.1 miles to the barn. Starke, true round, central silo 28' diameter & 65' tall, cone roof, sides 32' from the ground to the eave, siding is corrugated iron, very good condition. 3 story; bottom for animals, 2nd for machinery, & 3rd (loft) for hay.
