(Pacific Coast Shay Locomotive) at Cass Scenic Railroad in Cass, Pocahontas County, WV. At the NE corner of Cass Rd. & Railroad Av. Built by Lima Locomotive Shops in Lima, OH in 1928. It is a unique 3 truck Shay built originally for the Mayo Lumber Co. in Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. This 70 ton geared locomotive started out as a wood burning engine, was then coverted to an oil burner and then converted to a coal burner after being purchased by the Cass Scenic Railroad in 1970. It is the only known locomotive to run on all 3 fuels. (N38 23.831 W79 54.857) Photos by Mark Comstock 7-23-26.
